Why sustainability shapes every trip

Indonesia’s landscapes and culture are its most valuable assets, and we see ourselves as their custodians.

Our approach follows the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana: harmony between people, nature and the divine. It guides how we choose partners and how we design itineraries.

Reducing our environmental footprint

Carbon offsets

With Jejak.in, we calculate the footprint of clients’ flights and road transport, then invest in certified local reforestation and renewable energy projects.

Marine conservation

Part of our revenue from marine trips, such as Komodo, Raja Ampat and Alor, goes to the Coral Triangle Center and the Komodo Survival Program.

Less single-use plastic

Our vehicles carry reusable glass water bottles, and we work only with hotels and yachts committed to eliminating plastic waste.

Eco-conscious partners

Our vetting includes a sustainability audit. We prioritise partners with recognised eco-certifications who manage their energy, water and waste.

How local communities benefit

Over 95% of our on-the-ground team, including guides, drivers and local concierges, are hired from the communities where we operate. We pay fair, living wages above industry standards.

Through the Juara Holding Group foundation, we fund a waste management and recycling programme in the village of Sidemen, East Bali.

  • We brief travellers on local customs and etiquette
  • Visits to traditional communities are made as guests, not spectators
  • Part of the proceeds from village visits goes directly to the village cooperative

Local businesses we work with

We look for locally owned businesses first, including:

  • Local organic farms that supply our private chefs
  • Artisan workshops in villages such as Tenganan, known for its geringsing double ikat weaving
  • Family-owned businesses for cultural experiences
