Three days, day by day
Each day moves you to a new area, with the drive done in the morning.
Day 1
Seminyak: settle in and watch the sunset
A 35-minute transfer to a pool villa or beach hotel. Rest, a Balinese massage, Petitenget Temple nearby, sunset at a beach club such as Potato Head, then dinner in Seminyak.
Day 2
Ubud: rice paddies, crafts and temples
Drive 1.5–2 hours inland. A sunrise walk through the rice paddies, silversmiths in Celuk and woodcarvers in Mas, Goa Gajah, a cooking class or spa, and dinner by the Ayung River.
Day 3
Uluwatu: clifftop temple and Kecak dance
Drive 1.5–2 hours south. Uluwatu Temple on its 70-metre cliff, a surf lesson at Nyang Nyang or Sundays Beach Club, the Kecak fire dance at sunset, then the airport.
Where you stay each night
In Seminyak, a private pool villa at The Legian Bali or a suite at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach, close to the shops and beach clubs.
In Ubud, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, or Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, both above the Ayung River valley.
In Uluwatu, a clifftop resort such as The Edge Bali or Alila Villas Uluwatu, with pools looking over the Indian Ocean.
